| Playing with a Deck of Cards: Preschool Activity |
| Playing with a deck of cards is a preschool activity that you and your toddler or preschool should do at home. Unfortunately, many parents do not realize the learning potential that exists with playing cards. When using them to your advantage, you have a number of different options. When playing with a deck of cards, you and your child can play a simple game of go fish. This game is ideal for familiarizing your child with their numbers, as well as matching. This approach is sometimes better than using picture cards that are designed for go fish games. In addition to playing go fish, you can also play a game that is commonly referred to as war. This game involves separating the deck of cards into two piles or more, depending on the number of players. Each player will then lay two cards down on the playing surface. The player with the highest card number will take both cards. The winning player is the one with all cards at the end of the game. This game is great for getting your child familiarized with more than or less than. |
